Dear Munir Ahamed M1,

Thank you for posting Microsoft Community, we are glad to assist you here.

Based on your description and your incomplete screenshot, we assumed you are encountering 'Sending' reported error (0x80040610) : 'The message being sent exceeds the message size established for this user.'

To address this issue, please kindly provide us the information below:

  1. Press Windows + R to open Run, type regedit, and hit Enter.

  2. Once the Registry Editor opens, navigate to the following path. Manually create one if it does not exist.HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences

  3. Create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value in the right pane and name it MaximumAttachmentSize.

  4. Double-click on the newly created value and set the value data to the allowable attachment size. For example, set 0 for no limit and 30720 for a 30-MB limit.

  5. Click on OK once done to save the changes.

We looking forward your update,

Regards,

Microsoft Community

Outlook email is working: I send and receive normally. However, I have a continuous "Send/Receive Error" message displaying at the bottom of the screen. Details report mismatch in IDs; errors 500 5.1.0 and AUP#Out1500.

Hello,

My Microsoft 365 Outlook stopped automatically sending/receiving e-mails approximately 2 weeks ago (Dec 2023). I had to manually send/receive via the Update Folder selection under Send / Receive. I have a desktop computer with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365. I have had this computer for several years with no issues or problem with Outlook automatically sending/receiving e-mails. I confirmed several times my Outlook configuration and settings had not changed, at least from what I could determine. I tried many excellent suggestions from other Microsoft Community conversations with no success (using the repair tool in Outlook, configuring a new group in Outlook Options - Advanced - Send and receive, and several others.)

I then found another suggestion via another conversation - navigate to the Control Panel - Programs - Programs and Features - Uninstall or change a program. Then, right-clicked on Microsoft 365 and selected Uninstall. Followed the prompts as the steps will guide to attempt a quick repair and then to to do a re-install of the Microsoft 365 programs (i.e. Outlook. Word. etc.) via the Internet. This process did not impact any of my configurations or content in any of the Microsoft programs.

However, it did repair the Outlook send/receive automatic function immediately.

Hope this helps. If any questions, please contact me.

I dont know what provider to choose for my work email. Outlook only gives the option to load as IMAP and not POP. I loaded it as IMAP and it does not want to receive emails or send it.

I presume it should be a POP.???

Please help

Hi Nicola,

My current Outlook email is IMAP/SMTP. However, I have had POP Outlook email previously. I changed to IMAP/SMTP due to my Internet provider and did so earlier this year and all was working as expected until I lost the automatic send/receive function 2 weeks ago. Never had an issue with send and receive with POP. I apologize as I do not have a definitive answer to your question. Perhaps it is a question for your email and/or Internet provider and how the configuration and settings should be in Outlook??

I sincerely hope you have success solving it.
