Gmail configuration setting in Outlook 2010

Hello Reader,

Was trying to configure Gmail over outlook 2010, where i have used incoming and outgoing server as below: =

getting confuse which network connection i can use to setup outlook, might be there's something else please let me know: -

In the first screen, tick the check box "Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".

In the second screen, I have TLS instead of SSL in the "Use the following type of encrypted connection" dropdown.

And I use my default Outlook data file instead of a new one, but that's your own choice.

The network connection in the third screen is OK.

I assume that you have already enabled POP3 in Gmail, in Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP.

Thanks for your feedback.

It's likely that you'll need to add @gmail.com after your username.

You do NOT need to check "Require logon using SPA".

Your network connection type doesn't enter into it.  The same settings will work no matter how you connect to the Internet.

Place to start is following the instructions found here

Get started with IMAP and POP3

#1 - You need to enable your Gmail account for whatever protocol you want to configure

#2 - Just looking at your screenshots - your SMTP port # when using SSL is incorrect
