For New Outlook, I can't drag and drop attachment.

Hello MS-Team,

I Installed a new outlook for the user by clicking on "try new outlook feature", and after installing the new outlook she could not use drag and drop feature and she does not want to download all of the content because she works with a large number of invoices and reports.

The issues at hand are:

Can’t drag and drop attachments from an email to a folder.

Can’t drag and drop emails to folder to save them in the SharePoint.

Your kind help is much appreciated!

Kind Regards,

Aiyaz Khan

Dear Aiyaz Khan1,

According to your description, the issue of your concern that the feature for drag and drop does not work on new Outlook.

Based on my tests, it is a fact that this feature is not available when downloading the attachments. (uploading is OK.)

We truly understand how frustrating it is, at this moment, please toggle off the New Outlook as a workaround.

In addition, please be kindly to share your using experience and suggest this as a new feature to the New Outlook's engineering team as below:

You should be able to drag files and emails out of outlook, right now you have to download everything and open the old outlook to drag an email to another location.

You can on the old outlook. I used to do it all the time. And I still do on the Outlook used at my place of employment. But the new one I have at home...I cannot and it's annoying.

Feedback submitted!

So how long does it take for feedback to be reviewed and changes to be rolled out? Is it actually seen and read, and considered?

I am seriously so disappointed that this was not included as it is such a timesaver.

Not being able to drag & drop documents (download) from emails in the new Outlook into File Explorer is extremely frustrating & takes up unnecessary time during my work day. I do not understand how an engineer would think it's more logical to have to click the dropdown for an emailed document, click on download, choose either 'show in folder (your download folder)', which opens the File Explorer Download folder, then open another File Explorer window, then drag & drop the downloaded document into the file I want it to reside in, rather than the simple function of drag & drop. Please correct this.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why Microsoft thought it would be a good idea to eliminate the ability to drag and drop files from emails to local folders or Teams. This is an obvious mistake.

Whatever else the Outlook team is working on right now, they should stop and then restore the drag and drop feature immediately. I mean like overnight tonight. Other than that, new Outlook is pretty cool.

Who's with me?!? :-)

I'm with you 1,000000000%. It is a joke. We need the ability to drag/drop everything that works today: File Attachments, The email message itself and there needs to be the ability to "Save All Attachments" like there is today and select a folder. This is a CRITICAL feature for email. We drag/drop 1000s of file attachments per month.
