Failed Login Attempts Every Day From Hacker

I have gotten "update credentials" and "failed login attempts" from one of my hotmail.com email addresses every day for a week. They all come back as "failed syncing", and most from the same foreign IP address. I've changed the password 5 times, and now have one that is symbol-alpha-numeric 28 characters long. Is there anything else I can do to stop this from happening, or is there anything Microsoft can do to stop this specific IP from trying to access my email every day?

Hello Jeje

The only additional step you can take is to enable 2 factor authentication if you haven't done so already.

As long as you don't see any "successful" activity on your account, there is nothing to worry about but to answer your specific question: No there is no option to indicate a specific IP Address as being from a hacker. Like everything else, eventually they will move on to other accounts.

Just make sure that your passwords for all your other accounts (social media, financial, Amazon etc etc) have also been changed in case those passwords were the same as the old password from your email account.

A common way for hackers to get passwords is by breaching databases from websites where the email address/password combination was the same as that of your email account. You can check to see if your email address comes up by checking the following website created/run by Microsoft MVP Troy Hunt
