exporting a contact list only not all contacts to a spreadsheet

I am trying to export a contact list to an excel spreadsheet.  I keep getting all of my contacts and not just the subset which is my contact list.

Contact lists in Outlook are basically what we used to call distribution lists.  From what I am reading in community, you can not export just a contact list.  This is totally unacceptable Microsoft.

Just to clarify I am not using a group which is a collaboration tool.  I am using a contact list which functions as a distribution list.

Can someone offer any help.  I hope there is some way around this.

If you are referring to an Outlook Contact Group also called distribution list, you may want to visit the article for more information: https://www.extendoffice.com/documents/outlook/...

Thank you Frank but I don't think this helps.  I am including a screenshot.  I am trying to export all of the contacts in the contact list "Pickleball" to an excel spreadsheet.  When I click manage it only allows me to export all contacts which is every contact I have not just the Pickleball contacts.

When I talk to other Microsoft people they do not seem to understand what a contact list is.  Any idea where this confusion comes from?

Contact list is different from distribution list. They have different functions. Based on you screenshot, you are using the Outlook web version. Currently, there is no such feature for you to select a particular list to export either in OWA or the Outlook app. I wish I could be of any help. Let's check with the other experts for the meantime.

Regards,

Frank

You can't export the list but can copy the list from Outlook on the web  (Click Edit to get a better formatted list)

If you have Outlook desktop software you can get a text file - open the group and click Forward. This creates a text file attachment.

Probably because they use too many different terms for them - in Outlook desktop it is now Contact Group, but Contact list in Outlook on the web. And they used to be called Distribution lists (so no, they are not functionally different)
