I have been using Office 365 for a few years without any major problems. However, I have just noticed that the emails in my "sent" folder mysteriously disappeared!! The "Sent folder" still there. I cannot recall doing anything that might have caused this. So how do I get back the sent emails? I use POP3 account.

hi bogemochkai,
based on your description, could you provide the following information to narrow down the issue:
1. are you using the office 365 email account? if yes, do you set up your account via pop3 mode?
2. does the issue happen in owa?
if it works in owa, your office 365 account should be ok. the issue might be related to the outlook client. you can try recreating the outlook profile to see if it works.
3. could you please send a test email from owa and check if it can be seen in the sent items folder?
4. do you enable the save copies of messages in the sent items folder option?
please check it by the following steps:
- click file, and then options.
- in the outlook options dialog, click mail.
- under the save messages section, enable the save copies of messages in the sent items folder option.
- click ok.
if i misunderstand something or the issue persists, please post back the error, and then we will dig further into the issue.
regards,
monique

Hi MS Support Engineering:
This response does not address the whereabouts of the missing "Sent" items. Please tell me how to retrieve the missing "Sent" emails (1 years worth). Also, I already had the configuration described above, but Outlook 365 only keeps ~ 30 days worth. So my "Sent" emails are disappearing as we speak.

I have the same problem: sent-mails going back to the 2008 disappeared from
my sent-mail folder and are not in "deleted" or in "recover deleted". I'm
using Office 365 and Outlook 2016. Best: John Leslie

I was able to retrieve all the lost "sent" items from my ISP. Also they had beneficial configuration options. Its been too long to remember the details of what I did. Outlook 365 had options I set also. If I remember there was more than 1 change to really fix the problem. Summary, you need to have your ISP keep your emails or it looks like Outlook 365 will ~not save them. Many thanks, Ronald.

Hi
I have checked all the settings in this document, and they have been set as specified in this all microsoft support pages and I am still intermittently have sent messages that disappear (or rather never turn up) in my Sent Items.
I ran a test with an email, using Outlook 2016 that has only text content to a Gmail account I own.
The message arrived in my Gmail account but did not appear in my Sent items
This is rather perturbing, and I am loosing confidence in Office365 as a platform.

I have similar problem. I can not find my sent mails in any folder.
I have checked if there is any problem about enabling save copies of messages in the sent items folder option
There is no problem about it. It is the way it should be.
So what should I do to get my emails back? Please help me, same problem exists in my teammate as well.
Thanks
