Current Time Bar on the Current Day

Since the latest update to Outlook, the current time bar that used to show across the current day at the current on the calendar has gone.

The current time bar now only displays for the PREVIOUS days ... why exactly i have no idea.

The current time bar is 'attached' to a black ball on the left side of the current day - then when it is Tuesday or later, the actual current time bar attached to the black ball shows on the previous days.

So if the current day is Monday, all you seen is half the black ball at the current time and NO current time bar.

If the current day is Tuesday, then you see the complete black ball on the left of Tuesday at the current time but with the current time bar is then only displayed across Monday.

If the current day is Wednesday, then you see the complete black ball on the left of Wednesday at the current time but with the current time bar is then only displayed across Monday and Tuesday.

If you view in Schedule view then the current time bar is displayed corrected at the current time on the current day.

Why is the Current Time Bar NOT DISPLAYED on the CURRENT DAY?

How can you set the current time bar to display across the current day?

Hi Howard,

Thank you for the posting in our forum community. First, if you have received any phone numbers in this mentioned thread, please do not call on those numbers. It is related with spam activities.

As per your mentioned description, I have clicked on Day option under Outlook Calendar and I can see following things from my side.

Further, currently we can see and set following options under Calendar option from Outlook Options.

If we misunderstand anything wrong, could you please provide us detailed screenshot information from your side so I can further check from my side and provide you information accordingly?

To uploading screenshot > click on Image symbol > browse the captured screenshot image from the computer, click on Upload button.

Hi Darpan,
Many thanks for the reply.
Indeed your screen shots are exactly how mine used to look up to about 2 weeks ago when there was a update.
The desktop version is definitely displaying INCORRECTLY as the WEB version of Outlook displays the current time on the current day as expected.
Screen shots below - also included settings and About:

Hi Howard,

Thank you for your update.

Based on your mentioned reply and screenshot, we have checked the result in your mentioned Office version channel and we have received same result into that mentioned Office version channel (Monthly Enterprise Channel). It seem the view has updated in new Office version update.

But, at once we would like to suggest you please try to switch the Office version channel from Monthly Enterprise Channel to Semi Annual Enterprise Channel and see the result outcome.

First, please open command prompt as an administrator and type below commands:

1. cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun

2. OfficeC2RClient.exe /changesetting Channel=deferred

3. OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user

After performing above commands, please wait for few minutes, because it will automatically check the updates and downloading Office version channel.

Please feel free to contact us.

Regards,

Darpan

Many thanks for the reply Darpan,
If it were an option within the normally Outlook options panel/gui, then that would be ok, but unfortunately i am using a company laptop and they control the settings and roll outs off all MS Office software, patches and updates and changing any background settings myself through cli would be against our company security policy as software updates are led by our IT department, especially wrt to Outlook.
Looks like i will have to wait for the fix to be provided in an update.

Again, many thanks for the support - it has been appreciated and at least i now i am not going crazy :)
Regards

Howard
