Can't launch Outlook - keeps looking for a .pst file

I've got a new computer.  It came with a trial copy of Office 365.  I installed it, everything worked fine.  I even managed to import my contacts list from my old computer via a backup.pst file.

Unfortunately I moved this .pst file from my C drive to my D drive.  Since that point Outlook won't launch properly.  It tries to look for the backup.pst file.  If I remove it from my computer it says it can't find the file.  If I leave the file on my system it opens up the file in some weird looking way which looks like the Outlook screen but has no functionality.

I've tried uninstalling the app about 3 times and reinstalling.  I've tried to clear any Office file from the system but it still reverts to these messages.

Any help would be appreciated.  Other apps in the 365 package seem to be working fine.

Thanks

Hi. I'm Brian, an Independent Advisor.

When Outlook tells you it can't find the PST, you should be able to browse to where it is now, select it, and allow Outlook to open it. Then when it appears in the folder list at the left, you can right-click its root and choose Close. That will remove it from the folder list. Close Outlook and restart and it should not ask again for the PST.
