Cannot Highlight Text in Outlook

I cannot highlight text in Outlook.com.  My URL is: https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/mail/inbox

This has been happening for some time now.  I am using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11.   I have done the usual clearing of cache and all other things I can think of without any success.  The only way I have been able to highlight text is to keep refreshing the page about 3 or 4 times.  This is frustrating and inconvenient not to mention annoying. 

I have also tried Google Chrome just for testing purposes and find that I can highlight text easily.  This doesn't happen to be my favourite browser and more particularly Internet Explorer 11 is your own and is simply incompatible with Outlook it seems.

I am hoping for some simple answer to this bearing in mind what I have already done.

Your new blue page Organise your World promotion page is annoying and intrusive.  Takes twice as long to get into your email site. Please give us a turn off choice.

Is Internet Explorer 11 your default browser?

I don't have a problem highlighting text if it is text and not text in an image.

I do not get the Organise your World promotion page when using IE.

Internet Explorer 11 is my default browser.

The text is not in any image just in email.
Why do I have to keep refreshing the page several times to be able to highlight?

Attached Organise your World so you can see what I mean.

Cannot Highlight Text in Outlook

Just received an email from you asking whether this query was answered or not.  There has been no follow up from what I wrote.  Obviously nobody knows.  This problem still exists and there seems to be no solution.

Appreciate your email but would appreciate even more somebody actually giving me an answer.

Google Chrome .... can highlight text easily.

This sounds like an add-on problem.

Try logging in in an InPrivate Browsing session.

Open Internet Explorer.

Ctrl + Shift + P

Go to https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/mail/inbox and login

Thanks for replying. 

I know Google Chrome can highlight text.  I have been using this when going into outlook.  I tried what you suggested logging on In Private but unfortunately it does not work.  The link also does not allow any highlighting.

Having said that I want you to understand that when using Internet Explorer I can only highlight by continually refreshing the page over and over.  This is very annoying to say the least.

I can keep using Google Chrome but I am asking why your own Internet Explorer is not compatible with Outlook

Your Internet Explorer has the problem.

My Internet Explorer does not have that problem.

Very disappointed and annoyed that you or nobody else can answer a simple question.  I still have the above problem with Outlook Mail and can only highlight text by using Google Chrome.  This is absolutely ridiculous as Internet Explorer 11 is your own and is not compatible for whatever reason!!!  I have cleared cache and done almost everything to rectify this to no avail.  You said your Internet Explorer does not do this...but you never said why. 

Obviously you don't know what the problem is and don't care.

Hi Barbara,

I too, have the same problem with Outlook. I can't tell you the time I've spent on the help desk with "chatting" to a tech. My fingers are sore with all the advice I've been given, all you've done and a few more. The result being, nothing has changed!! I still have the same problem and nothing the people at Microsoft seem to be able to fix.

Surely, someone out there has the answer.
