Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed
Like many in this community since about 2011, I am having this issue: Cannot Get Mail. Connection to server failed on my Iphone 6. The problem started abruptly with no changes made by me. I, too, have tried a hard restart, a reinstall of my Outlook
email to no avail. Given that this problem has presented on this community page over and over again, I would hope that a more permanent solution had been determined. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to resolve this? Thank you.

Please confirm a couple of things:
Do you encounter the same problem when you access your account using a different device?
Have you tried to check if the issue occurs using Browser?
This issue normally occurs due to bad caches and bad settings after the update. As an initial troubleshooting, you need to clear your mobile cache, remove(make sure to
turn off the automatic update), and reconfigure your account. Refer to the link below for more information:

I have deleted and re-added the outlook email account in my Mail, Contacts, Calendars several times without any resolution
I am not familiar with Exchange Active Sync so really don't know how to go about that one.
I have two email accounts on my phone (GMail for work and Outlook/Hotmail for personal). I have been accessing the outlook/hotmail through the Apple mail icon without difficulty since I got my Apple 6. I have downloaded the Gmail app and this works fine.
I tried to download the outlook app to see if that would help, but it said it cannot connect to the server and I should contact my administrator...my administrator of what???
I am baffled as to why this happened suddenly. I did not update my phone or make any other changes.
Any other suggestions?
