Bypass Microsoft Authenticator-App

Hi all,

Did delete all my Microsoft-Accounts and try to setup up from scratch. Can not loggin to my Exchange-Account anymore, because I do have to put a Code in the Microsoft Authenticator-App. I was unable to setup the Exchange-Account in the Authenticator-App. Do not see any option to bypass it. With a private outlook-Account it is possible to bypass by send a confirmation SMS-Code, but not with Exchange. Any idea what I can do?

Since you are unable to configure the exchange account, could you please confirm if it’s business/education account?

Could you please also screenshot what error message you received? If it’s the business/education account, you may need to ask your admin to reset the authenticator so that you can reconfigure the authenticator instead of inputting the code. Please refer to: Manage authentication methods for Azure AD Multi-Factor Authentication - Microsoft Entra | Microsoft Learn.

Hi Eleni

Yes it is the business/education account and I am the Admin. I do not receive an Error, but I'am in a "Loop". After puting the Admin-PW in the Auth.-App I do have to confirm with the Auth.-App (even I am in the Auth.-App)! So I am struggling to add the Exchange-Account in the Auth.-App.

Going through Azure AD Multi-Factor Authentification has the same impact.

Finally I had to get in contact with Microsoft Support. They reset my Account and it works now again.

Finally I had to get in contact with Microsoft Support. They reset my Account and it works now again.

I am having the EXACT same issue, how did you get Microsoft Support to help?

I am sitting with the same problem and every time I call Microsoft Support, they are always telling me that an engineer from the Data Protection will contact me. It's been over a week waiting for their call and I call almost everyday.

Can someone please help me.

I am stuck in a loop with the authenticator app. It is requiring me to use the authentication app to authenticate login in to the authentication app. To get any kind of support, I need to log in to my Microsoft account, but then it gives me a number for the authentication app, that I am unable to log into. It won't send a text to the phone number I entered as an alternate sign in method, so how do I get into my account or get someone on the phone to help me figure this put?
