@appspot.com Spam

Hi.

My Microsoft accounts are being bombarded with @appspot.com spam.

It is only in my Microsoft accounts, and it is coming thick and fast.

If it wasn't for the @appspot.com spam, I would rarely get any spam at all.

Is anyone else having trouble with @appspot.com spam?

I'm not seeing that particular spam. Are the messages delivering to Inbox or Junk Email?

Hi Brian.

They are going to Junk, but there are so many, it makes it hard to check for legitimate emails.

Well, you could try adding the domain to the safe sender list, then creating a rule that deletes messages from the domain. I believe safe senders gets applied before rules.

I'll have a look at some rules and see if I can permanently delete @appspot.com emails.

I made a rule. I'll see how this goes.

Another thing. This forum is for the web-based Outlook.com. Your image shows desktop Outlook. That is covered by a different forum.

But my thread is about the Outlook.com spam.

It just so happened that my solution came from Outlook which came from your tip.

By the way, so far, it's working.

Try looking in the Outlook "subscriptions" folder....I found one there named "Paula" that is from Appspot and you can block anyone using part of the address identified as "Paula" from entering Outlook by clicking on the 3 dots   …  on the right side of the name. The folder is alphabetical. When looking through that folder (most people don't) I was amazed at how many there are there from web sites I've never visited, including many that originated from the EU and many are obviously bogus  Appspot **** also being distributed via Twitter, a convenient gateway for porn and other unwanted messages including from our President. I closed my Twitter account and traffic from appspot has almost completely disappeared.

This is the same problem I'm having with these porn link emails bombarding my Hotmail/Outlook email account. These @appspot.com domain emails have found their way into the subscribe list too. A real pain.
