Resetting OneDrive default folders

Is there a way to reset default folders in Onedrive?

Even though there are images in my camera roll folder, nothing shows up in my Onedrive folder online or the synced folders on my laptop.

If I am looking to delete an image from my phone, it does ask me whether I want to delete the file which is in Onedrive.

Vijay

If that's the case, you can try a reset. Please be reminded that resetting OneDrive re-syncs all your OneDrive files, which could take some time depending on how many files you’re syncing. Here's how:

  1. Press the Windows key + R.

  2. In the Run window, enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

  3. Click OK.

  4. Make sure the OneDrive icon in the notification area of the taskbar disappears and then re-appears after a minute or two. Here’s how to check: Look for the white OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar.

(You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow next to the notification area to see the OneDrive icon.)

  5. If the OneDrive icon doesn’t re-appear after a few minutes, open the Run window again and enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe.

Should you need additional assistance, do let us know.

That didn't work either.

Do the images get stored in a hidden folder like message backup?

Hi Vijay,

Seems like you're having sync issues with your OneDrive in Windows 10. To get this resolved, we can reset your OneDrive desktop sync app. Here's how:

  1. Right-click the white OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar. (You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow The Show hidden icons (^). next to the notification area to see the OneDrive icon. If the icon doesn't appear in the notification area, OneDrive might not be running. Click Start, type OneDrive in the search box, and then click OneDrive in the search results.)
  2. Click Exit.
  3. Go to Start, type OneDrive in the search box, and then click OneDrive. This opens your OneDrive folder and starts the OneDrive app.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

That depends on your settings, Vijay. To verify, we can check for your hidden folders. Click on this link on how to show hidden files. Follow the steps under Windows 10.
