ReFS on Storage Space volume: Your OneDrive folder can't be created in the location you selected

I logged into my computer today and now I'm getting the error message:

"Your OneDrive folder can't be created in the location you selected

The location where you were trying to create OneDrive folder belongs to a drive with an unsupported file system. To have OneDrive use a different location, click "Set up OneDrive" and point OneDrive to a NTFS drive. To use the existing location with OneDrive, you need to format it with NTFS, then click "Set up OneDrive" to configure your account."

I am using a Storage Space volume formatted as ReFS on Windows 10 Pro, that was working happily with OneDrive prior to today. What can be the cause of the problem?

I have the same message. It is very suspect. My onedrive is working fine.  I suspect a virus!  I am not going to take any action until there is more information

I'm on the Windows Insider builds and I've had the same issue today. Onedrive was working away just fine and then suddenly threw an error that I had to pick a new filesystem.

I've put this in the feedback hub so feel free to upvote and comment: https://aka.ms/D6ukjh

I am on a regular W10 build, and have the same problem. Interestingly same OneDrive client is syncing to my OneDrive for Business on the same ReFS drive just fine. I don't get what's the issue.

Can someone at Microsoft explain to us WHY you keep screwing up OneDrive?

First there was the Unlimited Storage fiasco which was basically a bait-n-switch scam to sell more Office 365 subscriptions.

Then when my PC started up today, I was greeted with this ****.

Like others here, I utilize Storage Spaces and REFS because I care about my data integrity.  Why the hell would Microsoft stop supporting their next generation file system, which has much better data integrity than the ancient NTFS, for a product whos main function is data backup?

And why would they do this without warning anyone?

Seriously, I want the name of the incompetent **** making one bad decision after another without considering the needs of their customers.  Because that person needs to be out on their ass and denied any more silicon valley jobs.

The problem described here must be related to this problem, which began in the same time-frame. Count me among those suffering from this BS!

Which version of OneDrive do you use?

I have version 2016 (build 17.3.6943.0625). My working account (Office 365) works well, but my private one does not work.

Same message. Rebooted Computer today and poof! greeted with it. Unlinking and setting up OneDrive again did not work. I suspect the latest Windows10 update has something to with it?
