Cursor doesn't go where mouse is clicked - Word for Windows v16.7 (171020) and earlier 16.x versions

I have a 60 page work document.

If I double click on a word on page 1, the word is selected.

If I double click on a word on page 30, the word BELOW the word I double-clicked is selected.

If I double click on a word on page 60, the word two lines BELOW the word I double-clicked is selected.

And on other pages, it's something in between.

Similarly for single-click and click and drag.

This is driving me crazy - I have to guess where to click based on what part of the document I'm at. Completely unusable.

FYI - this problem is only occurring on my MacBook Pro retina (15" 2016 - with touch bar) running Sierra, and started with the first release of v16 insiders.

My Mac Mini (non-retina) running High Sierra does not have the problem.

Is this a known bug?

Does anyone have a fix? Apart from downgrading.

Hi Red,

Check the next build, which should come today or tomorrow. It will probably fix this problem.

Be sure to include the version number and OS version when asking your question.
