Unable to change Autocorrect Options

I just bought Outlook 2010. I had Outlook 2003, and it worked magnicificently, especially due to the autocorrect capabilities that made typing e-mails quick and efficient. However, it is impossible to enable or disable any part of the autocorrect options, making the normal web based e-mail just as useful as Outlook. Is this a problem that can be fixed?

Answer

It does work without Word 2010, just not in the exact manner you expected. Spell check works perfectly (F7 or spell check on send) - spell check as you type (and grammer checking) have always been Word features, not Outlook. If you want them in Outlook you need to install the suite. If you want just Outlook, you get a subset of Word features, just as you would have with all previous versions of Outlook standalone.

FWIW, buying word standalone will not help you - you needed to buy the suite.

Amazon has it for $219 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036Z0NZI/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
