Excel iOS briefly pops up vertical keyboard when entering data with hardware keyboard

When you are using Excel for iOS on my iPad with a hardware keyboard, almost every time you type into a cell, the software keyboard pops up momentarily before promptly disappearing - like Excel makes the cell editable, displays the iPad keyboard, then realises the Smart Keyboard is attached, and then removes the iPad keyboard. 

To reproduce: 
- Type something into any cell 
- Press return that then moves the focus onto the cell below 
- Start typing something, and the software keyboard will pop up, before disappearing again

Can Microsoft please fix this?

Thank you for your reply. The issue only occurs with Excel and no other Office apps. It happens with every Excel file. 

I cannot show a screenshot, because the keyboard disappears within a fraction of a second. 

I am not the only one with the issue. Someone else reported the same  problem with an iPad Pro and Smart Keyboard on Excel.uservoice.com (https://excel.uservoice.com/forums/304936-excel-for-ipad-iphone-ios/suggestions/13505913-ipad-pro-9-7-smart-keyboard-problem).

You may remove and re add the Excel app and see how it works.

 

Meanwhile, install all Office and IPad drivers and see how it works.

I deleted and reinstalled the Excel app, which did not fix the issue. 

iOS does not have drivers or at least it does not expose them to the users, so I cannot follow this advice. 

If you have an iPad, the app and a keyboard, you can easily reproduce the issue yourself.

Weird anwser. I don't think you ever use an ipad.

By the way this bug is very annoying. Should be fixed ASAP.
