Office 2016 not configured for OS

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and Office 2016 (365 edition)

When trying to open up one of the applications for Office I receive the notification that

"the operating system is not presently configured to run this application."

The installation went through fine for Office and Windows 10.

I tried using the Quick Repair and Online-Repair tools in Office to try and fix the issue but no dice.

Do you ya'll have any ideas on a resolution?

Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for posting your query.

Lets turn compatibility mode off on Windows 10 and verify the result.

  1. From the Start screen, select an Office application that causes the error.
  2. Right-click on the selected Office application and tap or click Open file location.
  3. The Windows Explorer is opened with the selected Office application highlighted.
  4. Right-click the Office application icon that is causing the error and tap or click Properties.
  5. Tap or click the Compatibility tab.
  6. Uncheck Run this program in compatibility mode, and tap or click OK.

If issue still persist let's run 'Fix it' from the following article to remove the traces of Office installation, reinstall and verify the result.
