Mail Merge- Maximum Number of Fields 2013

What is the maximum number of fields that can be used in a mailmerge using Office 2013?
Answer
Answer
No, the limit is the same.  However, you can save your Excel file in csv format.  Alternatively, a VBA-based "roll-your-own" alternative to Mail Merge that uses DOCVARIABLE fields in place of MERGEFIELDS can be used.

Answer

It depends on the data source.

For a data source that is a table in Word, it is 62.

For an Access Table\Query or Excel data source it is 255 or 256

A properly structured .csv file can have more.
