How can I set Google Mail as the default Share option in Word 2013?

Sharing from Word 2013 with Outlook installed is brilliant, however our office uses Google Mail (in the browser) and it'd be great to be able to click share within Word 2013, and choose "as attachment" and for that to load of Google compose window... Is this possible, and if so, how?!

I don't believe this is possible. Word can only use a fully MAPI-compliant mail client for this purpose. You can set the POP option in Gmail to download to Outlook, and then you will be able to send from Outlook through Gmail.

That's what I feared. Thanks Suzanne. Unfortunately we don't have Outlook as an option because... Well Google Mail! Never mind.

Is Google Mail something different from Gmail? It doesn't appear so (if I google for "google mail," I get Gmail). In Gmail, click the Settings (gear wheel) button and choose Settings. Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. Enable one of the POP or IMAP settings and click to get configuration instructions to set up an account in Outlook. My point is that you could. If you have Office installed, you have Outlook available. You could use Outlook to send your Gmail messages even if no one else does. They will still be sent from and by Gmail. In addition, you'll have a much richer editing environment, a calendar, task list, and all the other benefits of using Outlook.

We don't have Outlook installed. I wish we did! I'll take this up with our IT department!
