Ctrl-Z, Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V are not working

Ctrl-Z, Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V are not working in word 2013 and Windows 8.1

This is pretty strange.

When I am in WORD 2013, these 3 shortcuts don't work.

this problem happens ONLY in word 2013.

The rest of the programs on the pc work fine. ( I installed word 2010 and it works just fine. I uninstalled and installed office 2013 and there goes the shortcut problem).

Any idea please?

Answer
We know it is not likely an external program since the shortcuts work in other Office applications.

We do know it is not an addin because the problem still happens when Word is started in Safe Mode.

Take a look to see where those shortcuts are currently assigned. Go into:

File menu > Options command > Customize Ribbon > Keyboard Shortcuts Customize... button.

Click inside the "Press New Shortcut Key" input box.  Try each of the shortcuts.  When you use one of the shortcuts, look to the left and below the white "Current Keys" input display box. Below that box and above the "Save changes in" drop down the current command the shortcut is assigned to will be displayed.

CTL Z should be EditUndo
CTL C should be EditCopy
CTL V should be EditPaste

You can assign those command to the shortcuts to fix the problem.

OR, assuming the dialog says the Save Changes file is "NORMAL.DOTM" you could try resetting it.  Close word. Find your NORMAL.DOTM, rename it. Start Word. NORMAL.DOTM will be regenerated. See if that fixes the problem, and if it causes any others.
