Cannot set up MIcsosoft Outlook 2013 on new PC. Error code: The time limit for logging was reached while waiting for system resources. Try Again. MAPI 1.0 [000004C2]

I just tried to set up Outlook 2013 on my new laptop.  I went to control panel and clicked on User Accounts then Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2013) (32-Bit).  I received a screen prompt asking to nominate a profile name, which I did and pressed enter.  I then saw a box called Mail Setup - Profile Name.  When I tried to click on the E-mail Accounts to set it up I got the error message: The time limit for logging was reached while waiting for system resources. Try Again.  MAPI 1.0 [000004C2].  Any ideas please?

Thanks

Hi,

This issue occurs if the compatibility options are set for Outlook.

Let us follow these steps to turn it off:

1. Browse to the location C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClentX86 or ClientX64\Root\Office15.

2. Right click on Outlook.exe and then click on Properties.

3. In the Properties window click on Compatibility tab.

4. Uncheck all the options (if checked).

To create new profile in Outlook 2013, follow method 1 from the following article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2752583

To set the new profile as default, follow the below mentioned steps:

·         Go to Control Panel.

·         Mail icon, Show profile.

·         Highlight the new profile and click on always use this profile

·         Click ok.

Hope the suggestion is helpful.

I do not have a compatibility tab on the outlook.exe properties.  I only have four tabs which are general, digital signatures, security and details.  Is there another place this can be set?

Also, just for your reference, I have a different path to the outlook.exe, which is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15...this might be due to me upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8...not sure.

Lastly, I continually experience my outlook "hanging" at the "loading profile" screen.  A restart, a cold boot seldom pushed it through this loading process.  Microsoft has not been helpful (SRX12634306-056).  Sometimes, running outlook in safe modem (outlook.exe /safe) allows me to open the control panel mail icon and choose a different profile, and I can close out of the different profile and then it may or may not work.  I am shocked this is not a known issue for MS.  Do you know anyhting about why this is happening?

Loving the fun.

Hi Microsoft we have the same issue as describe above.

We installed office 365 (Outlook 2013) for several users, Outlook was working without errors.
As soon as we start migrating users from Microsoft exchange 2010 to 2013. Some people got the MAPI error.

If an infected user logs on and start outlook immediately it is working. But if they wait a couple of minutes it isn't.
But they can't restart outlook. To get it working again they need to log of and on.

Please give us a solution for this problem.

Best regards,

Evert Hoegee

check this link

I had the same problem but for me I also had to rename the key on

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem

as every time I tried adding the profile, outlook was taking the default profile from there, after that seems to be all working

Useless. Don't have a "Compatibility" tab so can't try that fix. Mail32 gets the same error but worse. Have to use task manager to kill the application because it just keeps popping up every few seconds.

Looks like there are a LOT of people having this problem, over 1,400 views. Does anyone work at Microsoft? Why are you letting this go on with no help?
