Slow Opening of Hyperlinks in OneNote 2013 - "Contacting Server for Information"

orwright asked on
I'm using OneNote 2013.  When clicking on a hyperlink to go to a webpage (hyperlinks that are included at the bottom of a note after you cut and paste something in the past), a pop-up window comes up: "Contacting Server for Information".  Then, it makes you wait a minute or two, but eventually, the web browser opens and the webpage shows up.  However, the wait time is quite irritating especially if you have to look something up fast.

Any solution would be appreciated.

'orwright', I had the same  issue and found that unchecking the 'Automatically Detect Settings' option (Connections -> LAN Settings) in Internet Explorer solved it for me.  I tried this based on another post relating to a similar issue with Outlook 2010.

Maybe worth a try, or try different network connection options...
