Unable to install Office 2013 after I uninstalled Office 2010. When I initiated the install, received the "We're sorry" note, and sent me to this site

Just purchased the Office Professional 2013 Plus through the Home Use Program, and understand I can't have to of these programs on the computer, so I uninstalled the 2010 version.  Just installed Windows Live as one of the prompts recommended.  At this point, don't know how to download the new program.

Hi Don,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Community. I will help you in providing steps to determine the cause of the issue and install Office 2013 successfully.

I have a couple of questions before we proceed.

1. What is the exact error message you get when trying to install Office 2013 Pro plus Suite?
2. Do you have the disc for Office 2013 pro plus or purchased and downloaded online?
3. If purchased online, then are you installing the Click-to-Run version of Office 2013 or from the downloaded setup file?

One of the common reasons is if there is corrupted Office installation files on the computer, Office 2013 cannot be installed. Let us follow the steps.

Step 1:

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Programs & Features to check for multiple versions.

Refer the Method 2 and run the FIX IT to remove Office suite manually from the computer.

Office 2007 Suite: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218#Method2
Office 2010 Suite: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301#Method2

If you have Office 2010 Click-to-Run based edition, refer the following link to remove Office Click-to-Run:

Step 2:

Follow the Method 1 to Remove Office 2013 Preview Click-to-Run suites using the Microsoft Troubleshooter from the following article on your home computer:

Step 3:
Restart the computer in Clean Boot and install Microsoft Office 2013 Suite. Refer the following article on How to restart the computer in Clean Boot:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

After restarting the computer, install Microsoft Office 2013. I hope this fixes the issue. If not, reply and I will be happy to assist you further.

Thank You
