Unable to Activate Office 365 licenses

When activating Office 365 licences via VLSC, following web page requests 'Provide an organizational account' and since this is a new Account, the option 'I need to create a new account for my organization to use' is selected but returns the error below:

An error has occurred
We were unable to complete your request at this time.

Error Code: 2001 1cab5d23-50dc-4ece-b541-55430a2b6261

Go back to the previous page and try again.

I have tried calling Microsoft support but as usual they're not answering, anyone else come across this problem?

Hey I had this same issue and after calling Microsoft, It turns out it is a known issue.

A work around is to use an existing account, instead of choosing the second option to create a new account.

You then sign in with an existing account and it will then show you the product activation key.

*Please be careful to not start activation with the wrong account signed in*

Copy this key and then go to https://portal.office.com/commerce/productkeystart.aspx

Create the new account from there.

A second option is to call Microsoft Volume licencing support and they can email the key to the primary contact.
