Excel Filtering Problemmatic after Windows 10 Upgrade

Ever since installing Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3 (i7, 8GB memory, 512GB SSD), filtering in Excel 2013 (part of Office Pro Plus package) became problematic. Specifically, setting a filter is no problem but clearing the filter (Sort&Filter -> Clear) takes a very long time (e.g. six minutes for a file with 16000 lines and about 15 columns). There are very few formulas in the file, most cells contain values. This problem exists on only Surface Pro 3 machines (repeated the problem on a similar machine).

On a Dell Precision M4400, Dell Precision M4700, or, surprisingly, on a Surface Pro (4GB memory, 128GB SSD) used the same file and performed similar filtering actions and there was no problem.

Did any of you encounter this problem, and more importantly, does anybody have a solution?

Hi all,

Wanted to provide an update for O365. Yesterday, we passed all rings of validation for the update with second set of fixes for filtering performance and started deploying the build out to all O365 subscribers. This is build #16.0.6741.2017. Due to the number of users in the production ring, it may take a few days to ramp that up to all.

With this update, from an engineering perspective, all of our Office 2013, Office 2016, and Office 365 customers should have access to the second batch of fixes for filtering performance.

Thank you to all of you for the partnership over the last few months, this has been a great learning experience for us.

I will continue to monitor this thread for a little bit for filtering related issues.

regards
