What is this location in the Open dialogue box?

In Office 2010, the Open and Save dialogue boxes for all the apps have locations named after the application, like this:

In Word, this location seems to contain a Templates folder, from the user appdata roaming folder.

What is this meant for?

In Word 2010 the dialog you see will depend on the operating system, however the folder in question is the User Templates folder - the trusted default folder where your document templates and the normal template are stored.
