hi
I have performed all the steps below but I am still facing the problem.

Steps:

1.    Hold down the CTRL key and click on Outlook icon.

2.    Check if you are able to work with Outlook.

3.    If Outlook /safe works then disable add-ins by clicking on File->options->Add-ins.

4.    Click Go for COM-Add-ins and clear the check box for all.

5.    Click ok.

6.    Close and open Outlook.

its over 7 months now that I am living with this problem.

Everyday my outlook 2010 hangs for at least 5 times a day.

Hello Palcouk,

I noticed from the event viewer that by outlook started crashing from a certain date and when I checked my program installs in control panel that's the same day my McAfee Virus scan Enterprise was installed.

I am not sure if there is a connection but just thought I will let you know.

I managed to solve this on Outlook 2013.
I went to where the actual .exe for Outlook is located. Right clicked on it and went to the compatibility tab. In here i told it to run in compatibility mode for windows 7.

This seemed a little weird as the PC was already a Windows 7 machine, but it seems to have solved the issue on 2 machines now.
