Outlook hangs, eventvwr says Event ID 27 Calendar Folder property is empty

I found somewhere the solution to this is supposed to be to remove Outlook Service Pack 2, but I don't have SP2 installed.  I have a creek behind my house, which is where I want to throw this effing computer due to this problem and the universally experienced problem of Adobe Shockwave Flash Crash.

Can someone help me with Event ID 27?

A June update also caused this problem. The event is harmless, annoying but harmless. You can create an event filter that shows all events except ones from outlook to hide them.

Hi Diane, I'm new to this forum, you're not a paid technician, are you?  What I'd really like is some help getting rid of this extremely annoying problem.  What happens is that Outlook just comes to a grinding halt, somehow associated with some kind of action that results in "Event ID 27, Calendar Folder property is empty."  A. Grinding. Halt.

I sell my services, but a lot of the people who email me for help have a problem I know the fix for and they can fix it themselves. Yeah, I'm a really bad business person. <g>

In Control panel, Program and Features, click View installed Updates. sort by Name. Look for "Service pack 2 for Microsoft office" in the list of Microsoft office updates.  Right click to uninstall it.  It will get reinstalled, but many times the second install goes better because its the only update being installed.

If Service pack 2 really isn't listed, you can either uninstall the updates that were installed in Sept or try repairing office. Select Office then click the Change button, then Repair.

Oh, and what addins are installed? What antivirus do you use? Addins, especially security addins, can cause outlook to be a slug,

Thanks, Diane.  SP2 really isn't listed.  Do you happen to know the identifying numbers of Office or Outlook updates for the last four months or so?  Installation dates aren't shown in my Add/Remove list.  (Win XP)  Meanwhile I'll try the Office Repair again.

I use Zone Alarm antivirus.

I've trimmed back my plugins to what I think I can't get rid of, and they're all updated.

Create new profile for Outlook then open and see if it hangs again.

Event ID 27, "Calendar Folder property is missing," after you apply Office 2010 SP2:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2883156/en-us?sd=rss
Event 27 isn't the problem.  Event 27 is an annoying error post sp2 and post September outlook security update but for the benefit of others - it's not what is causing any freezes.

OK, I've read thru 6 months of posts and mostly mindless stabs at solutions, ENOUGH YAK YAK YAK.  This problem is prevalent enough, with plenty of users' systems affected that MS should step-in, DIAGNOSE, AND PRODUCE AN OFFICIAL SOLUTION so that a lot of users can stop talking to each other AIMLESSLY.

THE PROBLEM:   OUTLOOK:  "Calendar folder is missing" , Event ID 27

NOTE: many posts point to SP-2, I have only SP-1, never had SP-2, and I have this ERROR.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND NOT A Windows 7 OR MS OUTLOOK ADVANCED TECH, PLEASE DEFER, AND PROMOTE TO ADVANCED TECH OR SUPERVISOR.

THANKS FOR YOUR COOPERATION.

PLEASE PUBLISH A FINAL SOLUTION.
