IMAP Problems

I have created a new email address in Outlook it works fine but I keep getting disconnected for the server with the following information:-

IMAP4rev1 Server logging out

                Protocol:              IMAP

                Server: mail.btinternet.com

                Port:      993

                Error Code:         0x800CCCDD

how do I stop this happening as it is very annoying for to keep popping up every few seconds or when the system has sent an email.

any suggests on how to fix this problem

regards

Barry

Hi Barry,

Ensure the Server settings for the email account setup is correct.

You may need to contact the Email Service Provider in order to get the proper server settings, re configure it on Outlook.

You may also try logging into the email account through a webmail using a browser to check if the password works.

Let us know the results for further assistance.

Thank you.

Me too...

IMAP4rev1 Server logging out
Protocol: IMAP
Server: mail.btinternet.com
Port: 993
Error Code: 0x800CCCDD

Dialogue says I should contact my email service provider or ISP if I keep seeing the message. Well, it's been showing ever since I installed the programme (Office 2014).

Some support would be appreciated.

Should I check the SPA required box on the account settings page?

The account is obviously active as I am sending and receiving mail; however, it will not stay open for any length of time. This means that my folders cannot be sync'd and that the send/receive dialogue is always showing an error...

This does seem to be an outlook issue, which I didn't have with my old Office 2010.

The bluetooth add-in has been disabled by the programme because it doesn't work properly.

Frankly, this release seems quite buggy, hardly the quality of software I've come to expect of MS. Standards slipping?

I have the exact same problem, but with Yahoo!, not btinternet.  I have no problems with my password or with using any other email client, but I get this exact same message (IMAP4rev1 Server logging out) using Outlook 2011.  Any suggestions?  This isn't good and it definitely looks to be an Outlook issue.

I've ditched outlook now and am using Thunderbird. Can't see me going back to Micros**t until they provide decent support for this 'Swiss cheese' piece of software.

Why no action from them?

I just started having the exact same issue with Yahoo account (IMAP) that I've had no issues with for a year (since I set it up).

I found another thread specific to Yahoo! where they made it sound like I might have a dangerous email somewhere that the server was shutting off the connection, so I went in and deleted junk, bulk, and emptied trash, but no success.

What the heck, Microsoft staff?  Please tell us how to fix the dang thing!!  I changed ports to the other one, no luck.  This just started this week.

Help us out, man!!
