Errors after Connector v14.0.6106.5001 Install

I am receiving multiple errors when send/receive (on the hotmail receive line item):

Task '-@-.com' reported error (0x80004005) : 'Network operation failed'

Task '-@-.com' reported error (0x8004102A) : 'Error with Send/Receive. There was an error synchronizing your folder hierarchy.The network connection is unavailable or interrupted. Please try again later.'

Task '-@-.com' reported error (0x8004103A) : 'Synchronization error.'

 

I was not receiving these errors with the previous version of Outlook Connector.  This started after updating to Office 2010 SP1 and the new connector early yesterday. I have:

  • Uninstalled the updates and reinstalled.
  • Removed the live account and readded.
  • Created a new profile and resetup.
  • Ran a Disk Cleanup to remove all temp files, cookies, etc.
  • Started Outlook in safe mode.
  • Disabled all add-ins except connector.
  • Rebooted over and over.

Same errors every time with a message at the bottom "Limited Connectivity" that seems to come and go. The only thing that's not synching is the Calendar. This has been going on for about 24 hours. I am running Windows 7 64bit.

Someone commented on the Office Blog (http://blogs.office.com/b/microsoft-outlook/archive/2011/07/07/https-support-added-to-outlook-hotmail-connector.aspx) that this will resolve itself eventually...with the "removal of the cookies". When's eventually? I've been experiencing this since yesterday. Can we remove the cookies manually?  Is there something else that can be done to fix it?

The issue that was causing the Synchronization errors ~July 6-July 11 is now resolved.

We apologize for the inconvenience. The issue was caused by a server side permissions problem that rejected requests to connect to the Windows Live Calendar server using HTTPS on some (not all) hotmail servers. The issue has been addressed on the server and no updates are required to the Outlook Hotmail Connector. Now that the issue is resolved, please close Outlook, restart, and allow Outlook to sync your hotmail account again. If you see the issue return again, please let us know.
