Cheat installer about CPU frequency - for Office 2010 Business Contact Manager

When Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010 installed, it requires minimum 512 mb RAM and 1GHz processor frequency.

My UMPC has 1Gb RAM but unfortunately it runs on A110 Intel processor (Stealey) with frequency 800 mhz.

I'm extremely interested to install BCM on this PC, not sure how slow will it run, but presume this 200 mhz difference doesn't really terminal in real life.

BCM however refuses to install, claiming that system doesn't meet minimum requirements.

Is it possibly somehow "cheat" installer about frequency of CPU to get BCM installed? If it won't be usable it's OK but I want to see for myself rather than rely on hardcoded (and IMHO nonsense) limitation.

Answer
Answer

Yes, this is possible!

Open setup.ini and change:
ReqMem=512
ReqCPU=1000

to:
ReqMem=1
ReqCPU=1

BCM is currently installing for me with these settings.

This fix was a requirement for me because I actually do meet the requirements with 2.8 GHz and 512 MB RAM, but the BIOS only has the choice of using 8 MB or 1 MB for video memory, so Windows reports 504 MB or 511 MB RAM and setup fails the check. Not buying a new stick for a few megabytes to pass a silly software check!
