Can a formula force Iterative Calculations?

Hi All........

Can the Iterative Calculation option in Excel be forced by a formula(s) so that it works in a specific workbook whether the Excel Install using that file has the option set or not?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Answer

A formula can do one thing: return a value to a cell.

This subroutine will switch on iterative calculations.

Copy it; open the VBA with ALT+F11; double click on ThisWorkbook for the file in question and paste

Save file as macro-enabled (extension XLMX)

When file if opened Iterative Cal is switched on

best wishes

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
    With Application
        .Iteration = True
        .MaxIterations = 1000
        .MaxChange = 0.0001
    End With
End Sub
