Q: Is is possible to Disable Office.Com templates? This thread is locked from future replies

Is it possible to stop Office 2010 applications from linking to Office.com for additional styles and templates?

Answer

A:

And if you aren't an administrator, you can just edit your registry with the following key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\Internet]
"UseOnlineContent"=dword:00000000

This will stop Office (and Word) to display "Templates from Office.com" in the File New dialog and restrict the templates to the installed ones.

I'm not sure if this is what some of you are looking for, hope it helps:

You can modify the settings related to Office.com content via Group Policy.
If you're an end-user in a domain environment then your IT Administrator needs to do this.

If you're the administrator then modify the respective group policy at this level:

User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates: Policy Definitions (ADMX files) > Microsoft Office 2010 > Tools | Options | General | Web Options..

There should be 6 configuration items there relating to Office.com and after we implemented it the Office.com content disappeared out of Microsoft Office 2010 applications.
