Project 2007 - Unable to save

Paul.Austin asked on

I have a user running Windows Vista SP1. She is using Project 2007 SP2 and has lots of issues saving documents. I have uninstalled and reinstalled tna. When she amends a Project and tries to save it she gets the message is as follows -

The file cannot be opened.

Check the file name and path are correct.

Check that the file format is recognized by project

Project files saved in a version earlier than Microsft Project 98 can't be opened.

She is able to save it as a template though.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project forum :)

I suspect some form of corruption.  If she can save it as a template, then open the template and immediately Save As... and give it a new file name.  That should work OK.  If not, can you open it on another PC, save it with a new name and delete the old project?

If you suspect a corrupt file, you could try the suggestions in FAQ Item: 43. Handling project file corruption and/or bloat.
