Import old pst file from Outlook 2007 into new version of Outlook 2007

My old computer crashed but we were able to save the hard drive. I have the old pst file from Outlook 2007 and need to import it into the new download of Outlook 2007 on the new computer. How can I get my old pst file into my new version of Outlook 2007?

How many times does this have to be posted? DO NOT IMPORT! Forget all about impprting and exporting when transferring Outlook data from one machine to another. That's not what the import/export function is there for.

Copy the pst file to your My Documents folder, check that any Read Only attribute is unchecked then in Outlook do File-Open-Outlook Data File and browse to where you put it.

Detailed instructions here.

Answer

Just copy it to the new machine, edit your profile in Outlook and tell it to use the old PST file (it was created new with Outlook 2007 right?) in the Data Files tab.
