Error: "Personal folder not closed properly"

I recently upgraded to Office 2007.  Every time I open Outlook now, I get the error message "The datafile 'Personal Folders' was not closed properly."  Then, I get a popup below that says "A datafile did not close properly the last time it was used and is being checked for problems."  Then it warns me that performance may be impacted while it is checked.  What is going on and what is the problem?  How can I fix this once and for all.  (I also just upgraded to Norton 360 so perhaps the problem is there?)
