Change Office 2007 user interface to look like old Office 2003

I was just forced to upgrade to Office 2007 at work.  The new user interface in Word and Excel is pure ____ and non-intuitive.  I have been using both programs since the early 90s.  How do you change it Word 2007 and Excel 2007 user interfaces to look those used in Office 2003?

Answer

Here are a couple of choices:

Here are three sites where you can get downloads which basically give you a classic menu/toolbar interface:

MenuExcel
http://www.addintools.com/english/menuexcel/

Tooolbar Toggle
http://www.toolbartoggle.com

UBitMenu
http://www.ubit.ch/software/ubitmenu-languages/

A comment: You should try to learn the 2007 interface because its not going away.  Eventually you will become a dinasaur if you don't learn it.  And you may not be allowed to use these add-ins in an company enviornment.

Another thought. If you are very familiar with the previous UI, and it sounds like you are, chances are you know many of the old keyboard shortcuts. In 2007 just start by pressing Alt and continue with the old shortcut keys. Eg in Excel to apply/clear an AutoFilter do Alt, D, F, F
