Dear Juliet, 

I'm afraid you're wrong: the gear is inactive there, although I logged in with my account.

But the main thing that I asked was not how to personalize the "news" on MSN, but how at all block the loading of those dumb yellow pages with ridiculous subheadings altogether.

As I wrote, the MSN is forced to load immediately after Windows 10 load.

When W 10 is loaded, MSN.СOM is automatically forcibly loaded with selection of the most absolutely vulgar "news" and pictures.

Conventional download blockers are ineffective.

What to do?

Windows 10 > Start> Settings > Privacy > (left side) Background apps > turn off Microsoft News.

Also... Right-click the Taskbar > Task Manager > Startup > if Microsoft News is listed as a startup app, disable it.

Also... If msn is the homepage of whatever browser you're using, change to another homepage.

Don, thank you for the advice, but none of it works.

- Microsoft News is not included in the background applications. MS News is also missing in the Task Manager.

- There is no MS News in the Startup Task Manager.

- I only use Google Chrome (including as my main browser). I never use IE, Edge, etc.

In which browser is msn.com or Microsoft News opening?
