Groove Music is dead on Android!

Groove Music on Android (Galaxy S7 Edge - Android 7) no longer works.  It only plays 30 seconds or locks up entirely. 

I have tired reinstalling the Groove App, removed the device, reset the device.  Nothing works. 

Now I can't even see the device or add it back as a Music Pass device even though the App recognises my account and sync's the music, but since the music doesn't play or only plays 30 seconds before it locks up... it is totally useless.

I am at the point of just cancelling my subscription which I have had since the Zune days.

Wow, that's rough, I'm really sorry to hear about this. I've sent this over to our Android experts and I'll let you know what I hear back.

So, the behavior that all songs play for 30 seconds sounds a lot like you don't have a music pass. Did your pass expire? Are you signed in with a different account?

I definately have a subscription.  I have:

  • Uninstalled it on Android (Galaxy S7 Edge - Android 7), then reinstalled it. 
  • Removed the device from my Groove Music Pass
  • Installed the App again
  • Device is not added back into Groove Music Pass even though the app loads all my music and syncs

Also, on the Groove Music subscription page the "Last Used" never seems to update (over 2 months old on devices I use regularly).  It could be something broken in the subscription engine.

OK, thanks. I have 1 more question, and I'll send you a private message to see if you can help get some logs for what's going on.

Can you play any tracks from OneDrive? Put an MP3 in a folder called "Music" in the root of OneDrive and it should show up for you in Groove.

No his pass didnt expire.  This has been happening for a long time and MS ignores it. I get the same thing. Will only play 1 song, then 30 seconds of thr next song, then the app stops responding. My pass works fine on windows 10 and Windows phone. Android app is the problem

It is still virtually unusable.  No updates have fixed it.

Starting to see similar issue on my pixel xl.  Groove is slow to start, plays, then stutters or skips and restarts the song from the beginning.  Also what happened to the option to download all music? It's almost to the point of dumping my subscription for another service.
