I registered my Zune account using a hotmail.com e-mail address linked to an existing Windows Live ID. Simple enough, and predictable--integrate my Microsoft services. Except...
my account is actually linked to a ho[g]mail.com e-mail address. Because it was a typo in the registration process, which, for whatever reason, was still accepted--I was able to register my name, address, personal info, all under this hogmail.com address.
I sign into the account at the Zune website using this hogmail.com address, even though the "e-mail" setting on my account is set to the proper hotmail.com address--I was able to do that much. For whatever reason, though, I can't sign in with the hotmail address. It seems there is a disconnect between my listed contact e-mail address and the account e-mail address--and the account e-mail address doesn't even exist!
Is there a way to reset the e-mail address without losing all my Zune Pass content and Zune ID? The idea of creating a whole new account, separately, deleting the old one--and thus invalidating all the Zune pass content I already have, having to redownload it...that is the definition of "ugh."
