Where did Saved Messages go in New Microsoft Teams?

My company has Microsoft Teams Version 23257.2616.2423.5046 (64-bit)/Client Version 49/23091420217.

It was last updated on 07/10/2023. When the New Teams selection is enabled I no longer have the ability to go to Saved Messages.

Anyone know where this feature went?

Thanks anyone for your valuable responses.

Hi, Welcome to the Microsoft Community. I am a Microsoft user just like you, and I hope you are well. Please note: This is a user-to-user community forum. We are users just like you who help others. We are not employees of Microsoft. If you are unable to find the "Saved Messages" feature in the new Microsoft Teams, it is likely that the feature has been replaced with a new feature called "Bookmarks". To access your bookmarks, you can click on your profile picture at the top right corner of Teams, and then select "Bookmarks". You can also use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+B" to access your bookmarks. If you are still unable to find your saved messages or bookmarks, you can try searching for them using the search box at the top of Teams. You can search for messages, people, files, and other information shared in Teams. When you type a word or name, Teams will show related results. Either choose one of the suggested items or press Enter to get a full list. I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Best Regards, Umar Majeed

Clicking on my profile doesn't show any Bookmarks, nor does searching for them.

Hi there,

My company just moved us to the new Teams and I had the same question as you. I keep track of messages that I still need to address, so for me Saved Messages is mission-critical. After doing a little poking around, I have come to the conclusion that the "Save message" and "Saved message list" feature has been removed.

Hopefully, MSFT will restore the save message feature soon, but it is not on the roadmap for October or November, nor is it listed as a known issue. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoftteams/new-teams-known-issues

Here's a link to an external help site that says new Teams is still under review and recommends going back to the classic Teams.

https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftTeams/comments/16caugq/unable_to_save_messages_on_new_teams/

To go back to the old Teams, search on your computer for "Microsoft Teams classic." That's what I'm going to do.

The Microsoft page you linked to has an update. It now says "Ability to save messages and files in Teams" is "No longer available. Will be replaced later this year by a similar feature."

Great. You give us nothing helpful and take away the few things that are.

I had the same question and concerns and have come across a reasonable workaround. You can create a task from any message and even add in a due date. These go into your tasks app in Teams or the Tasks pane in Outlook.

Glad you suggested this. Was scrolling to the bottom to do the same!

Additional tip: Outlook Tasks = Microsoft To-Do.

This is a great app for managing your To-Do list across the Microsoft suite. It also integrates with Microsoft Planner which very useful in Teams. Available on all platforms and free. Also available in Teams.

To create a To-Do / Outlook task from a Teams Chat or Post:

  1. Right Click or Click on the ... on a message, reply or conversation

  2. Point to More actions (next time you can skip this step)

  3. Click on Create Task

  4. Optional: Set a due date and details

  5. Click on add task

Now check the tasks section of Microsoft To-Do and you'll have a link directly back to the chat.

Does not replace the 'save' feature, but it is a better workflow for managing tasks that you need to complete in fast moving chat.

That's because @microsoft.com refused to support their customers properly or implement the features we need. instead they remove all the necessary features
