Uninstall and reinstall MS Teams every day in order to sign in successfully.

When I open MS teams, it shows this error "We're sorry we've run into an issue " (Figure below). However, after uninstall and reinstall it, I can successfully login. But the issue is that I have to uninstall/ reinstall it every day, otherwise, I get the same error. This has been going on for a least 2 months.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

If so, could you please let me know if there is anything else I can do to resolve it, other than the following two options I have tried and still get the same error?

First option

- Click on the start menu

- Type "Control Panel"

- Open the control panel

- Open Programmes and Features

- Remove all instances of Microsoft Teams

- Try re-downloading and re-installing using this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-teams/download-app

Second option

- Uninstall teams.

- Go to this folder: %appdata%\Microsoft

- Delete the Teams folder

- Reinstall Teams

Both options did not resolve this problem.

Hi UWIMPUHWE,

Welcome posting in the forum.

Based on the error message, you can try below methods:

1: In Windows 10 > Settings > Accounts > Access work or school, find the account you're attempting to use to sign into Teams. If it's not here, please add it. If it is here, disconnect and then reconnect your account.

2: change another network/laptop then try again.

3:as a workaround, try Teams web app.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any updates.

Regards,

Grace

I have the exact same problem as the original poster and am finding it more and more frustrating especially as I need it each day for client calls and having to uninstall and re-install is causing quite a headache. The fix that has been posted doesn't work for me unfortunately.

The only Fix I have is to:

1. Uninstall Teams Machine Wide Installer and the teams app

2. Reinstall and teams again

3. Log back in and don't shut the computer down until the weekend

4. Repeat the week after when error message shows...

Considering apps should be pretty simple and easy to use this one is baffling me as something so simple is so incredibly hard to do.

Is there going to be a simple fix for all windows users that can solve this or is it something that we'll have to keep battling with for good. I'm not the most tech savvy either so even to find the work around I use took forever to find.

Is there a way this question can be escalated to someone in the teams dev/app design team who might be able to start looking into a workaround for this to make life simple again?

Thanks

This is the issue I encounter, I have to go into the teams programme file and uninstall it completely, looks like it's something to do with caching? I've been hunting around for weeks for an easy answer but even the Microsoft Agents don't seem to have an answer... would be good if they could fix the teams issue and do a software update to all PC users to fix the issue so we don't have to do the hard work!

This answer has now become obsolete because it does not seem to be working that way anymore. I would like to use the app rather than browser version, especially due to the high memory consumption on browsers (especially chrome). Can you please post a new and updated solution?

Same issue here. I have to uninstall and reinstall after each reboot! I've done all the suggestions, can't we just get an actual bug fix for this issue?

Same issue here - driving me mad.

I have another Teams account, which is what I use the web app for, so it limits my options a little.

I also have the same problem. I don't uninstall every day though, what I do is run the Teams installer only. I dropped a shortcut on my desktop and when I log in for the day, instead of launching the Teams app, I launch the Teams Installer, which then automatically launches Teams when complete. It adds about 5 seconds to my log in time, but at least it has functioned every day.

Location of the file that I have a shortcut to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Teams Installer\Teams.exe

This doesn't excuse the problem or make it okay, but it is a workflow that's more palatable for now.
