Teams - Start Recording greyed

Hello,

In Teams, when I start a video conversation, using the '...' button, I can see the 'start recording' option but it is greyed, I cannot access to it.
How can I have access to this function, to record the conversation ?

Hello Dimitri,

First may I know if you are using Teams Client or Teams Web App? If you are using the former one, to isolate if the problem is related to your Teams Client, please sign into the Teams Web App https://teams.microsoft.com/ with your Office 365 account and  then double check if you could use " Start recording " there.

If the same issue occured on the Teams Web, as far as I know the problem is more likely that your Teams admin didn't enable recording feature for your Teams account. In this case please try to contact your Teams admin to sign into Teams Admin Center > Meetings > Meeting policies > Audio& Video > enable the option " Allow cloud recording".  After that make sure the respective meeting policy is applied to your teams account, and this changes may take some hours to take effect, please wait it with more patience and see how it goes, thanks.  For your reference

Hello,

same problem here.

Allow cloud recording is on,

but still the recording is greyed out.

Same for web client and full client.

Any help?

Hello Sebastian,

First if you just enabled "allow cloud recording" and assigned the policy to your teams account, please wait for some hours and then re-sign the Teams to see if it helps.

Moreover, please double check if you could use the featuer from teams web app after the period.  And if you joined the Teams meeting which create by other organization you cannot use "start recording" feature in the Teams.

On another hand, if your problem persists, as one thread focusd on one person( issue), to isolate confusion, please try to post a new thread on Office 365 for Admins/ Teams/ Office 365 for Business category, our dedicated support engineer will give you more assistance regarding to your problem, thanks.

Same problem, checked policies, tried web client and Desktop, checked license E1, checked Stream assigned 

Spent since last week thursday with Jay from Microsoft and we still can't get around this issue no matter what we try.

We have the same issue, every policy is checked, and has been for 5 days (if not before), and still no way to record the meeting...

Hi,

My customers Tenant is Green Field and with the craziness going on around the world they want to be able to record meetings, it's the first time using Teams and not a great experience so far for them, support from Microsoft is not great either we keep going around in circles.

For the "Start Recording" greyed Out, first please double check the “ Allow Cloud recording" in the Teams Admin Center, you may try temporarily disable it, after that please wait for some hours and then re-enable it for your users to see if it helps.

Tried all that already with Jay from Microsoft, he took screen shots of the assigned licenses, screen shots of the policies, screen shot of assigned Stream SKU.

Same problem.  We enabled Cloud recording on Thursday.  Followed the prerequisites on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/microsoftteams/cloud-recording.  We also have Info pane is disabled by policy grayed out.  What exactly is Info Pane and which policy is affecting it if at all?

It depends of your data location. Could you provide the location of your tenant ? (in office 365 administration)
