Teams says channel already exists, but it's impossible to find

So I'm looking for a channel we had in Slack - "Invoices"

It's nowhere on the left hand bar in the Teams tab where all the channels are

So I try to create it but I get error message "Channel name is already taken"

OK so where is it? In Microsoft's (unhelpful) help article it says "Search for a team or a channel by its name in the command box." I do that. Only two messages with the word "invoices" appear and nothing else. No channels.

So Teams is telling me the channel exists. But there is no way to find it.

Hello Eric
I am V. Arya, Independent Advisor, to work with you on this issue. Looks like this channel was existing earlier and later it got deleted. Once deleted, the name can't be reused.
To find this, you will need to click on 3 dots against your team - Manage team - In Channel tab, look under deleted. This you will need to do one by one for all teams.

I am having the same experience. But when I got to Manage Team > Channels, it says there are zero deleted channels. And no current channel shares the same name.
