Teams Room Device - Black Screen

When is Microsoft going to fix this known issue? It is affecting two of my meeting rooms.

Front-of-room display shows a black screen intermittently

On devices that're running version 4.17.x.x of the Teams Rooms for Windows app, you might see a black screen intermittently in the front-of-room display after the system has been idle for a period of time.

Both the Microsoft Teams admin center & the Pro Management portal will indicate that the front-of-room display is functioning normally. This is because the display is not disconnected. Instead, the app window is hidden.

Select either the Meet now or the Call button on the console of the Teams Rooms device to restore the front-of-room display immediately.

Hello Tom Anscombe

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have an issue in regard to the Teams for having a black screen display. Let’s work together in finding the best resolution to this issue.

For me to better understand the issue, I’d like to ask a few questions:

  • Are you using Microsoft Teams for Consumer or Business?

Actually, the Teams room is only available in Skype and Teams for business. As per article that you provided it indicated there the work around on how to fix the issue. Since it was published in the MS Learn, our developer is working on it. They are already aware about the said issue. I would suggest to file a feedback about this matter. In order for our engineers identify what feature would suit you. You may access the link below.

Hope you understand.

Jason,

We are using Yealink's MVC640's with the new Teams Room Pro Licences.

I do hope the developer's come up with a solution. I have looked into rolling back to an earlier version of Teams Room but understand this is not possible.

Kind Regards,

Tom.

Hi,

it looks like Microsoft has solved it in version 4.18, but I got this issue back in version 4.19.57.0 using Teams Room Basic License.
