Teams Assignment

Wondering if anyone has been able to upload a fillable word document or pdf into a teams assignment. Currently students have to download the document - fill it in - save it - and upload it to their assignment - and finally turn it in.  I would like students to be able to fill this document in directly on teams without having to download it, save it, and upload it to the teams assignment. Is this possible - if so - how?

Hi Sipiorski

Thanks for your share in the community.

For your requirement, I have done some tests. If you are a teacher, you can upload the file when you create an assignment, then students can edit it in the assignment without downloading. Kindly refer to the steps below:

1. Create a new assignment and choose Add resources.

2.Choose the file which you’d like to upload or create a new file.

3.Click on Assign (Example as Word).

Then the students will edit and upload the word on their sides without downloading.

I hope this information can help you. If you have anything unclear, please feel free to let us know.

Regards,

Joey

So, if they just click on the document, it will open a version they can edit?  That didn't happen when I went into the Student View to try it.  It seemed like they still had to download it.

I'd appreciate help so I can help my students.

Thank you,

Jenn

I would like my students to fill in answers on a fillable PDF worksheet I made, but the same options for editing a Word document in Teams do not seem to be available. I have the option to have it open Teams or online, but it just opens up the PDF to view. My fillable areas are not able to be typed in. I wish there was another added option for editing a PDF.

Standard  is 'Students edit their own copy' at the recources not selected. You have to select this yourself.

My issue is that "students edit their own copy" does not come up as an option for a PDF, only a word document.

Sorry, I overlooked that. I don't think that's possible. It only works with Office-files.
