Hi Sipiorski
Thanks for your share in the community.
For your requirement, I have done some tests. If you are a teacher, you can upload the file when you create an assignment, then students can edit it in the assignment without downloading. Kindly refer to the steps below:
1. Create a new assignment and choose Add resources.
2.Choose the file which you’d like to upload or create a new file.
3.Click on Assign (Example as Word).
Then the students will edit and upload the word on their sides without downloading.
I hope this information can help you. If you have anything unclear, please feel free to let us know.
Regards,
Joey

So, if they just click on the document, it will open a version they can edit? That didn't happen when I went into the Student View to try it. It seemed like they still had to download it.
I'd appreciate help so I can help my students.
Thank you,
Jenn
