Screen Sharing Netflix or Prime Video results in black screen

Whenever I try to screen share Netflix or Prime video, the other person gets a black screen with the audio playing. However, when they do the same thing, it works fine for them. So what is the issue here?

Hi Shubham,

Good day! Hope you are doing well. I am Jennifer, an Independent Advisor and Teams user like you.

Just to make sure that I understand it correctly, when you share screen with other users that includes videos, it shows black screen on their end? And when they share videos with you, it works. Is that correct?

Try checking your display settings to ensure all monitors have the same number such as 100% for the menu that says "Change the size of text, apps, and other items". This should be configured on the person who's seeing black screen.

Hope this helps.

Thank you and stay safe!

I'm having trouble finding those settings. Can you explain where to find them? I am in the new Teams experience.

I found the display menu on my PC and adjusted the settings. The iPad user (with whom im trying to share the video) can hear it and see the play button, ten second skip, minimize, maximize, etc. but they cannot see the video itsef.

Did you ever figure this out?  I'm having the same problem trying to share a science video on Netflix with my students via Teams.  All they can see is a black screen.

Nope. I have not gotten any helpful information on the situation. I'm wondering if it's an Apple iPad compatibility issue? Not sure. I might post on an Apple forum as well.

Thanks for answering!  My students are using iPads, but I tried it myself by using my computer with my laptop.  I still saw a black screen.

It is not an ipad issue.  I am having the same problems sharing from my laptop and to my students' laptops

I tried sharing a movie last year with my students, and I had the same issues.  WHen they could hear it, they could not see it.  When they could see it, they could not hear it.  I am wondering if there may be Copyright issues when sharing certain content "across" devices?

If you use Chrome it should work. It won't work on Safari.
