Playing music in the background through Teams while presenting.

I am doing a number of live fitness sessions using Teams. I would like to have music playing through Teams for my students to hear it clearly wherever they are. How can I do this while keeping myself on the screen?
Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

I'm assuming you play the music from your Windows PC, not from the conventional tape recorder. In that case, you can share your computer audio.

This article explains how to share sound from your computer in a Teams meeting or live event: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/shar...

Currently, this feature is only available on Windows PC, So if you use Mac OS then please let me know I will assist with further assistance.

Hi Daniel and thank you for your help.

Sadly, I did these steps, I then did my own research and came across this information and re-followed them. At no point did it work though!

Yes, I am trying to play music from my PC.

I can share a screen that has music in (e.g. a video in a powerpoint or from Youtube), however, I only want to share the audio from a music file playing on my computer and still maintain the visual layout of myself. The only time I've been successful with sharing the music is if I share the file window where the music is stored, which then overtakes my image on screen.

The point is the students should still be able to see me but hear the music through their own speakers.

If you have any suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you.

If you share audio but still show your image, you need the help of the VoiceMeeter app. So in this case, the VoiceMeeter app will act as a virtual sound system that will merge the music sound and your own voice then channeling it to MS Team. It's not possible to accommodate your needs without using a 3rd party app.

So please follow these steps:
Step 1: Please configure the VoiceMeeter app to receive input from the music and your voice. Please refer to this demo video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6rp9lkiFBU

Step 2: You need to configure the MS Team app to receive audio input from the VoiceMeeter app.
Select profile picture on MS Team app > settings  > Microphone > select VoiceMeeter Output (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter)

Thanks again but after a few Teams sessions with family members I've actually managed to achieve this without the use of a 3rd party app.

Fingers crossed I can make it work with my students while teacher.

Thanks again for your time and help.
