Pictures are not enlarging in MS Teams

It happens to me on multiple computers as well as to colleagues of mine, that MS-Teams shows just an empty screen when you click on an image to enlarge it.

If you try to enlarge a picture it often happens that it will not show anything.

The result is an empty screen, even after a couple minutes nothing shows up.

I have already tried to delete all files in "%appdata%\Microsoft\teams", but it did not help and as I wrote it happens on a lot of computers and users.

It looks to me as if this problem is present since 2019.
Why Microsoft is not able or willing to fix it?

Edit 1:
If I open Teams in the webbrowser, then the problem does not show up.

Hi, Michael,

My name is Didi. I'm happy to help you today.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. If clearing the Teams cache didn't help, and the issue persists on the web app, I suggest reporting or giving feedback to Teams through the Help icon on the lower left of the app bar since multiple users are also affected in your organization.

This way, developers would be informed of the matter and investigate it.

Best regards,
Didi

The issue does not show up on the teams web-client.

It only happens to me with the Windows client and it happens not all the time.
Sometimes it works on the same picture when you click it a couple times and then it stops working on this picture again.
It looks to me as if the MS-Teams Windows client is causing these issues.

Hello, Michael. Another method you could try is to run the Teams app in compatibility mode and see if there's any difference.

1. Right-click the MS Team icon on the taskbar then select Quit.
2. Then, right-click the MS Team icon on the desktop > select Properties.
3. Under the compatibility tab, check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" option then select Windows 8 from the dropdown list.
4. Click 'Apply'

Thank you.

Will someone respond to me then when I report this issue?
What is the official way to report bugs in the client like this?

That is the official way of sending feedback. Based on the official documentation below, users in an organization can send feedback about Microsoft Teams to let them know how they're doing directly from within the Teams desktop, web clients, and mobile. They're continually improving the Teams experience and they use this feedback to make Teams better.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams...:

Another way is through the new Feedback portal https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/p...

Alternatively, your IT admin could create a service request through the Microsoft 365 admin center and discuss the issue with one of their support teams.

Thank you.

There is already such a case open in the feedback portal:

It looks as Teams has in general problems with viewing images:

Before that this feedback portal was called uservoice and I have seen there an open request to add a "message forwarding" feature to MS-Teams on the desktop app. This request was for three years on "we will evaluate this feature request" and now it disapeared and it is still not possible to just forward a message.

In the meanwhile someone created a new request for the on the new feedback portal:

https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/7f16f408-272e-ec11-b6e6-00224827bbc2

I have a very low confidence that Microsoft cares about that what their users require.
